The Plus Plan, made clear: what's included and how trips are charged.
The Plus Plan is your family's subscription that unlocks booking, organizing and sharing trips. Without it, every trip splits the cost; with it, inside your private groups trips can be free. This guide explains when you pay and when you don't.

One subscription per family, not a fee for every trip
With the Plus Plan your family joins groups and clubs, books seats, organizes trips and —if you drive— can charge others for sharing the car. It's a single plan that covers your whole family, with no limit on groups.
The Plus Plan and the price of a trip are two different things. The subscription gives you access to the features; each trip's cost (fuel, tolls, wear) is split separately among the families travelling that day. You never pay twice for the same thing.
Inside your groups, trips can be free
The big difference with the Plus Plan: inside a private group, you and the other families take turns without charging each other. Cost-splitting only shows up outside the group or if the group turns on charging.
Without the Plus Plan
You can create and join public trips and charge the cost split, just by being verified as a driver where it's required. What you can't do is organize trips within a group or club, or make them free between families.
With the Plus Plan, inside a group
You create and join private groups where trips have no cost between you: you organize and take turns for free. The cost is only split if the group itself turns on charging, or on public trips.

The trip cost: split and charged with no surprises
This is the part that raises the most questions. Here's how cost splitting works, separate from the subscription.
The subscription and the trip are separate
The Plus Plan is the fixed fee that gives you access. Each trip's cost is separate and depends on the distance and how many of you travel; it's not included in the subscription.
Split by distance
Each trip's cost is automatically divided among the families travelling that day, in proportion to the route. You only pay your share.
Not charged trip by trip: it accumulates
To spare you many small charges, your shares add up and are charged together. So you see one grouped charge instead of dozens of micro-charges.
We never store your card
All payments go through Stripe, a secure gateway. Kidstoride does not store your card details or handle cash.
When is the accumulated amount charged?
While the accumulated amount is small, it's grouped and charged once a month. But if at any point what you've built up reaches a small amount (a few euros), it's charged right then so the balance doesn't keep growing. The first time, that trigger amount is even lower. Either way, you always pay only for what you've actually travelled.
The three items you'll see
Everything that may appear in your charges, summarized. Nothing else is charged to you.
| Item | What it is | When it's charged |
|---|---|---|
| Plus Plan subscription | The fee that gives your whole family access to the features. | When the trial ends, then each month or each year, depending on the plan you choose. |
| Trip split | Your share of each trip's cost, based on distance and how many of you travel. | It accumulates and is charged when it passes a small amount or, if not, once a month. |
| Service fee | A small percentage already included in the split to keep the platform running and payments secure. | It's inside the trip split; it's not a separate charge. |
Activate, change or cancel whenever you want
You control your subscription from the app at any time, with no calls and no commitments.

If you bought it on an iPhone
If you subscribed from the Apple app, the subscription is managed in Settings → Subscriptions on your device, not from Kidstoride.
What's asked most
Are my group's trips free?
Yes. With the Plus Plan, inside a private group trips have no cost between families: you take turns driving the kids without charging each other. Cost-splitting only shows up if the group turns on charging, or on public trips. Without the Plus Plan, you can't organize free trips in a group.
Is the trip price included in the Plus Plan?
No. The Plus Plan is the subscription that gives you access to the features. Each trip's cost is split separately among the families travelling that day, based on distance. They're two different things.
Why was I charged now and not at the end of the month?
Your trip splits accumulate. They're normally charged together once a month, but if the accumulated amount reaches a small figure, it's charged then so the balance doesn't grow too much. You always pay only for what you've travelled.
Do I need a Plus Plan for each child or each group?
No. A single Plus Plan covers your whole family and all your groups and clubs, with no cost per extra group.
Am I charged during the trial?
No. During the trial days the subscription isn't charged. The cost split of a trip you take does reflect that trip's real cost, because it's the families' money, not Kidstoride's.
Do you store my card details?
No. All payments go through Stripe, a secure gateway. Kidstoride never stores your card details or handles cash.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and after that you're not charged again. Your groups switch to read-only mode until you reactivate the plan.
What if my company already pays for Kidstoride Works?
If your employer has Works active, access for work trips is included and you don't pay the Plus Plan for that. For the rest of your family's trips, the Plus Plan is still what gives access.
