An identity check, just once
Identity verification (KYC, from "know your customer") confirms that a driver is who they say they are, using an official document and a selfie. It's a one-time step: once verified, you don't have to repeat it on every trip.
It's carried out by Stripe Identity, a specialised and certified service. Kidstoride doesn't see or store your document: it only receives whether the verification came out correct.
Trust for those who entrust their children to you
Children's safety
Knowing there's an identified person behind the wheel is the foundation of trust in an app for children's trips.
Each country sets it
The obligation to verify depends on the rules of each country or region. Where it's required, it's essential in order to publish trips.
A requirement to get paid
To receive payments from other families, the driver needs to have their identity and their payout account verified.
A mark of trust
Verified drivers show their status to families, which helps them book with more peace of mind.
Verifying yourself, step by step
- 12 minutes
Start the verification
From the app, when you go to publish your first trip or from your driver profile, you tap to verify yourself.
- 2With your phone
Photograph your document
You follow Stripe's instructions: you take a photo of your official document (ID card, licence or passport) and a selfie to confirm it's you.
- 3Instantly
Ready to publish
As soon as the verification comes out correct, your profile is verified and you can publish trips and receive payments.
How much does it cost?
If you have the Plus Plan active, verification is free. If you're on the trial period, you can activate the plan instantly and verify yourself at no cost, instead of paying for the verification separately. Without an active plan, a small fee applies for the verification.
What happens to your document
Stripe processes it, not Kidstoride
The document and selfie are handled by Stripe Identity. Kidstoride only receives the result (verified or not), never the images of your document.
We don't store your identity
Kidstoride doesn't store copies of your identity document. We only keep the fact that you're verified.
Data under the GDPR
The processing complies with the European GDPR. Your data is used only to confirm your identity, not for any other purpose.
Just once
You don't have to resend your document on every trip: the verification stays linked to your profile.
What's asked most
Do all drivers have to verify?
It depends on the country or region. Where the rules require it, verifying is essential to publish trips. To charge other families, verification is always required.
How much does it cost?
With the Plus Plan active it's free. If you're on the trial, you can activate it and verify yourself at no cost. Without an active plan, a small fee applies.
Does Kidstoride see my ID?
No. The document is processed by Stripe Identity. Kidstoride only receives whether the verification is correct, never the image of your document.
What document do I need?
An official document with a photo: ID card, driving licence or passport, depending on what your country accepts. You'll also take a selfie to confirm it's you.
Do I have to verify on every trip?
No. It's a one-time step. Once verified, your profile is marked as such and you don't have to repeat it.
Why does it ask me to verify if I only want to try it out?
Publishing trips and getting paid requires a verified identity where the law demands it. You can explore the app and book as a passenger without that step; it's asked of the driver who publishes.
